Noah's legacy: One family's journey of hope

PC360 visits Give Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida

Each year, National Underwriter Property & Casualty attends the Workers' Compensation Institute's Education Conference in Orlando, Florida, which includes a volunteer day at Give Kids the World village in nearby Kissimmee.

So many attendees volunteered this year — nearly 500 people — that the volunteer day expanded to range over three days. After a charity gala hosted by National Underwriter Property & Casualty Editor-in-Chief Shawn Moynihan on the evening of Aug. 20, WCEC's volunteers and attendees raised $50,000 for Give Kids the World.

Give Kids the World is a storybook-themed village that hosts seriously and terminally ill children and their families on Make-A-Wish trips to the Disney parks. The volunteers at Give Kids the World put their maximum effort into making sure the entire family has an unforgettable time on their trip.

We talked with Brad Loewen, whose family's lives were changed forever after their trip to Give Kids the World in the winter of 2009.
